So glad you're here!

I'm Ashley Haugstatter.

Former Pediatric ICU nurse turned nurse leader, educator and cheerleader. I'm a fierce advocate for the profession and my fellow nurses. I believe that education is empowerment, and my passion is helping nurses to build the lives of their dreams and reach their full potential through knowledge and support.

Personally, I'm a multipassionate human who loves to dance, travel, hike, play games, and take photos. I'm an introvert, and equal parts adventurer and homebody. I'm engaged to my high school sweetheart (an engineer and private pilot) and a puppy-mom to the cutest Australian shepherd you've ever seen! I'm a cold brew fiend, a sucker for a good sandwich, and I always have room for dessert.

I'd love to meet you, too. Reach out to [email protected] and tell me all about you!

Welcome to the community - I'm so thrilled you're here!

My Story

I like to say that I didn't choose nursing - nursing chose me.

And I'm so glad that it did!

While on the path to receiving my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, I was pulled in another direction and ended up applying to the accelerated BSN program at Binghamton University. I was accepted and never looked back! Graduating in 2015, I started my dream job as a pediatric critical care nurse at Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse, NY. During my time in the PICU, I served as a charge nurse, preceptor, nurse residency facilitator, and chairperson of our unit and specialty shared governance committees. I became dual certified as a pediatric and a critical care nurse, and fulfilled another dream when I became a pediatric clinical instructor.

In 2018, I took a leap of faith and applied for a newly created leadership role at the hospital next door - Crouse Health. They took a chance on me, and I became the first Manager of Nursing Relations and Retention. I've had the great privilege of working closely with human resources, nursing leadership, and our associated college of nursing to create and maintain recruitment, retention and recognition strategies for our nurses and nursing students.

Throughout my nursing journey, my passion for educating and empowering current and future nurses has only grown stronger. In 2020, I started my entrepreneurial venture to build a personal and professional development platform for nurses. The Nurse Mentor was created to serve nurses of all ages and stages in learning how to better their well-being, their confidence, their careers, and their bank accounts.

I'm here for you!
